I am Phil Holland and I live in the North Texas area near Dallas with my wife Lee, a Dallas Police Officer. I suppose you could say an obsession with photography has deep roots in my family. Clifton Holland, my grandfather was a country photographer in rural Tennessee from the 1920's until his passing in the late 1960's. Clifton passed along his love of photography to my dad, Harvey. Dad never worked professionally with photography but spent his entire life snapping the shutter at every opportunity.
In 2005 my family suffered a great loss with the passing of my father. It was a great blow to all of us. Photography was something that had always been in the background for me but after Dad's death it came into a strong focus. It was great therapy to throw myself into something that Dad loved so much.
In order to gain a new perspective as a photographer I began photographing weddings. I love it more than I could have ever anticipated. To be chosen as the photographer for one of the most important days in someone's life is a terrific honor. Photographing people on one of the happiest days of their life is an honor I cherish with each and every wedding in which I participate
I hope that while you are here you will take some time to get to know me through my images. Viewing my work is the best way to get a feel for my style. Labels such as "artistic photojournalist" mean very little without the photographs to support their meaning. After you have looked around please send my an email or give me a phone call. I am flexible with packaging and would be happy to discuss different options with you. The engagement session is included with both packages at no additional cost.
If you don't live in the Dallas area I would love to fly to your location and document your wedding. My rate remains the same plus expenses. Please email me and I can research current travel prices and give an estimate.
