Who says you can’t shoot a great engagement session in the Texas heat? Pam, Javier and I met early at the Kiepersol Estates Vineyard and Winery outside of Tyler in a feeble attempt to beat the heat. It was better than shooting in the evening but it got hot fast. Luckily, there’s nothing like a glass of Texas Red to help take the edge off the furnace in the sky. We had a great time and spent the better part of the morning doing our thing all around the winery. Pam and Javier couldn’t have made my job any easier. Their natural and easy affection made the morning flow along.
I was shooting mainly with the D3s but shot about four rolls of film too. They’re not back yet from the lab but I can’t wait to share the real Black and White photos from the barrel room. Look for them here next week. I process my digital capture into black and white using the Amazing Silver Efex Pro 2 from Nik Software. Pick up a copy at the link. Use it and you’ll have an infinite amount of control with your black and white conversions.
In my excitement over such a great session I left my VISA at the gift shop. If you end up at Kiepersol Estates, get a bottle of Cabernet on me…I highly recommend it!
Pam and Javier, thanks for a great time. Can’t wait to see you guys at your wedding soon…cooler temps are on the way!
