I was excited to meet Matt and Yan at the Botanic Gardens in Fort Worth last week. We had a consultation over the internet with Skype and had not actually met face to face. Their wedding is coming up fast in March and we didn’t have time to spare. I think we all knew, even over video chat that we saw eye to eye and have the same priorities. It was nice to spend time together on our photo shoot to underscore what we already knew…this is a great fit.
As is often the case in Texas…we had our fingers crossed for good weather. With a nasty cold front and storms coming we hit the jackpot for weather. It was a beautiful evening in Fort Worth and we had plenty of time to make the most of it at the Botanic Gardens. The Botanic Gardens are one of my favorite places in DFW to shoot but I didn’t realize until we were there that it has been over a year since I was there. Lee and I have to take Sydney there to play when the weather warms up!
There are several reasons to like shooting there. With so many gardens there are endless opportunities and I also like that they require a permit for professional photography making it a little more exclusive. We planned our time to end our engagement session in the Japanese Gardens. How can you not love shooting there? With the beautifully crafted wood bridge and walkways, the ponds, coy and landscaping it is really a one of a kind location in the metroplex.
If you’re here looking for ideas or are planning your wedding, I hope you’ll get in touch with me so we can talk about photography. Be sure to look over my FAQ for Brides and check out some of my best wedding photography.
