The Former Lee Smith in School at The Cleveland Institute of Music

This is my wife Lee during her junior year as a trumpet performance major at The Cleveland Institute. She was taking a photography course at Case Western and this was a self portrait. I scanned the print and repaired the scratches and spots. Very moody shot. The trumpet can create dark moods.

My First Home Developed Film Featuring Lee

I recently bought a Nikon FE to start shooting and developing my own black and white film. This is shot in the Half Price Books in Frisco, TX with the FE and my Voigtlander 58mm lens. Film is Kodak Tri-X 400.

Lee’s Intro Video

Lee put together this little intro video and I promised her I would post it on my blog.  She put it together from a couple of trips to the Dallas Arboretum.  Enjoy!

Saturday At The Dallas Arboretum

My Mom was in town for Easter week from Tennessee.  She, Lee and I spent part of the the day Saturday at the Dallas Arboretum.  It was a beautiful day and the tulips were especially colorful.  Here are a couple favorite shots. The first shot was taken with my Voigtlander 58mm SLII manual focus lens on a Nikon D300.  The second shot was with the same camera with my new lensbaby mounted.   That lensbaby is pretty cool but the focus is very touchy.  The last shot is just a fun silly shot of Lee with the lensbaby.dsc_0197-3.jpgdsc_0096.jpgdsc_0160.jpg

Lee’s Video of Caprock Canyon

Lee put this video together from our weekend hiking in Caprock Canyon.  Enjoy!

Fun With Light at Caprock Canyon

This was dinner time at Caprock Canyon.  I shot this on a tripod, 20 seconds.  I walked around Lee and fired my SB-800 manually.  Once from the side and once from the rear above.

Pretty chilly out that night.  Nothing like freeze dried spaghetti to warm you up!
